Vacancy – Palau National Marine Sanctuary (PNMS) Program Manager

Position: Palau National Marine Sanctuary (PNMS) Program Manager
Salary: $25,580 – $42,980 per annum depending on experience and qualifications plus generous fringe benefits
Closing Date: October 25, 2022


Master’s Degree in Marine Science, Natural Resource Management, Communications or related field and 2-3 years of experience in grant and project management or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in any of the disciplines above. 

*Interested applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of relevant experience will also be considered.


  1. 1. Coordinate PNMS activities within PICRC and with different partners, agencies, groups and stakeholders -35%
  2. 2. Serve as Secretariat for the PNMS Advisory Committee – 10%
  3. 3. Overall management of the PNMS projects and grants including GEF 7, ensuring that projects produce the results specified in the project documents – 50%
    • a) Participate in planning activities of the projects and monitor progress against the approved workplans
    • b) Execute activities by managing personnel, goods and services, training and low-value grants, including drafting terms of reference and work specifications, and overseeing all contractors’ work
    • c) Monitor events as determined in the project monitoring plan, and update the plan as required
    • d) Perform regular progress reporting to the project board and granting agencies including measures to address challenges and opportunities
  4. 4. Other tasks assigned by supervisor – 5%
