PICRC calls for nominations for the 2024 Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. Environmental Award

The Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) is calling for nominations for the 2024 Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. Environmental Award. The Environmental Award is presented every other year during PICRC’s largest fundraising event, the Anniversary Gala Dinner, to recognize an individual that has made significant contributions to conservation and management efforts in Palau.

Launched in 2016, the Environmental Award was named after President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. who was the first recipient of the Award and was recognized for his leadership and vision in advancing conservation efforts in Palau. Since 2016, the Award has also been presented to: Dirrengerkiu Carol Emaurois (2018), Ann K. Singeo (2020), and Lazarus Meyar (2022).

Now, PICRC is accepting nominations for the 2024 Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. Environmental Award. The recipient of this award will be a keynote speaker at PICRC’s 23rd Anniversary Gala Dinner. Nominations are open to the general public and proposals can be submitted by following the link to the online Google Form https://forms.gle/RrXpvFdKxsB2mZSR7 . The link can also be found on the PICRC Facebook page and website.

Users unable to access online form may also submit their nominations in person at PICRC or by calling PICRC at (680) 488-6950. Any submissions made via telephone should state both the names of the nominator and the nominee, and the reason why the nominee deserves the Award. Deadline for submission is November 30, 2023.
