Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in supporting Palau Aquarium and Palau International Coral Reef Center as a volunteer. The volunteer program is intended to engage the general public in the work that we do to help manage and conserve Palau’s marine environment. Volunteering with us will increase your conservation knowledge, develop your job skills, and give you the opportunity to give back to your community.
We have volunteer opportunities available with Palau Aquarium, the PICRC Business Office, Public Outreach, PICRC Field Researchers, and our Education Department.
Our volunteers receive 10% off all Giant Clam Gift Shop purchases, invitations to special events, free Palau Aquarium admissions, and our sincere gratitude.
Age Requirements:
We accept volunteers who are 17 years and older. The volunteer program is an exceptional opportunity for high school seniors and college students to gain valuable work experience and mentorship in a vital, international organization. Community members, too, will find volunteering at PICRC and Palau Aquarium to be an invaluable experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Our volunteers must be enthusiastic and committed. We require that new volunteers fill out a volunteer application and commit to one (4) hour shift per week for six weeks at a minimum.
Some volunteer positions may require a larger or different commitment. For example, Field Research volunteers have special, project specific requirements, which, as a general rule are approximately five full consecutive working days (40 hours).
