The Palau International Coral Reef Center and The Nature Conservancy formalize their close partnership with the signing of an MOU

On November 22, 2023, the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC), formalized their long and fruitful partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).  The MOU brings PICRC, a national organization, and TNC, an international NGO, together to work in partnership to support Palau’s ocean conservation and management. Specific areas of collaboration include coral reef monitoring and research, coral restoration, aquaculture, capacity building, and training.

“PICRC is a Center that produces high quality and impactful research, education and opportunities to support the stewardship of Palau’s ocean resources. Whereas TNC’s mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends, with TNC’s Micronesia & Polynesia Program committed to effectively managed conservation projects here in Palau,” stated PICRC’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Caryn Lkong Koshiba. “We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve our shared goals.”

The MOU was signed by Ms. Koshiba and TNC’s Executive Director, Noah Idechong. It will remain in place until November 30th, 2028.
