Organization of State Speakers to host PICRC’s 24th Anniversary Gala
The Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) is excited to announce its upcoming 24th Anniversary Fundraising Gala Dinner, scheduled for January 23, 2025. Under the theme “Resilient Ocean, Resilient Community,” this special event will celebrate the Center’s continued commitment to conserving Palau’s marine ecosystems for the people and strengthening local communities as we face challenges, such as climate change.
In a significant undertaking to support PICRC’s mission, the Organization of State Speakers has pledged to host the event and contribute a generous $25,000 towards the fundraising goal. This partnership underscores the shared vision of working together to build resilience in Palau’s ocean environment and empower local communities with the knowledge and resources needed to protect it.
““Resilient Ocean, Resilient Community” captures the essence of PICRC’s ongoing efforts to engage and build capacity among the people of Palau in reef management,” said Roxanne Siual Blesam, PICRC’s CEO. “The support of the Organization of State Speakers is invaluable as we continue to develop adaptive strategies for reef and ocean conservation, involving community members, stakeholders, and government officials. Together, we can ensure that Palau’s marine ecosystems thrive for future generations.”
The Anniversary Fundraising Gala Dinner is PICRC’s largest annual fundraising event, with proceeds directly benefiting the Center’s vital research and outreach activities. Tickets for the event are now available for purchase at $100.00 each, with the evening featuring a formal sit-down dinner, live entertainment, and a night of fine dining.
“We are proud to be part of this significant event and to contribute to the study and protection of Palau’s marine environment,” said Noel Ngiratmab, Vice President of the Organization of State Speakers. “Our partnership with PICRC aligns with our shared commitment to fostering sustainability and resilience in our communities.”
The upcoming Gala represents an important opportunity to support the vital work of PICRC and demonstrate collective commitment to safeguarding Palau’s ocean and resources.
