Since 2001, PICRC has hosted the annual Arts and Tides Calendar Contest — a beloved community program that inspires kindergarten, elementary, and high school students to express their love for the ocean through art.

Each year, students from all sixteen states are invited to submit original artwork based on the calendar’s theme, which highlights a different aspect of marine science or conservation. 

Winning pieces from each grade level are featured in the printed Arts and Tides Calendar and awarded prizes. The calendar is proudly displayed in homes, schools, and offices across Palau — celebrating the creativity and environmental awareness of Palau’s young artists.The Arts and Tides Calendar remains one of PICRC’s most popular outreach programs, drawing hundreds of student submissions every year.
