Nik Varley, a Graduate from the University of Chicago, Joins PICRC as its Newest Communication and Outreach Officer

The Palau International Coral Reef Center is happy to welcome Nik Varley as our newest Communications and Outreach Officer. Nik graduated from the University of Chicago in 2019, where he studied English and Environmental Science.

As a Communications and Outreach Officer, Nik will focus on bringing PICRC’s work to policymakers, resource managers, students, and the people of Palau. He will work to implement PICRC’s education programs, support outreach for the Palau National Marine Sanctuary, and contribute to PICRC’s external and internal communication.

“I’m proud to join the team at PICRC,” said Nik. “This has been a great opportunity to learn more about the Center and its important work.”

Nik also brings several years scientific diving experience and looks forward to exploring Palau’s ocean. He makes a strong addition to the Outreach team and will support PICRC’s mission to empower ocean stewardship that sustains people and inspires the world.
