Salary Range: $21,050 to 50,409 per annum plus fringe benefits

Term: Limited Term employment base on Grant Funding Location: PICRC Office, Palau
Palau International Coral Reef Center is seeking applicants for the position of a Coral Futures Supervisor to lead the coordination of Coral Futures Academy projects based in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federal States of Micronesia, and Palau. The Supervisor will ensure deliverables are being executed on time and within budget, coordinate with Team Leaders in each country, and communicate among the Teams, stakeholders, and science experts (TNC, Stanford). They will also need to possess a technical understanding of the projects and organizational skills to guide projects from start to completion and foster an environment of communication and collaboration. Qualified candidates will either possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree with experience in managerial duties such as project management, leadership, and team coordination. This is a full-time position for three years under a funded CORDAP grant. Priority will be given to Marshallese, Micronesian, or Palauan natives, or those that speak the language fluently.
Specific duties include:
• Coordinates the Coral Futures Teams projects with key partners (TNC, Stanford). This includes establishing evaluation metrics, and contributing to Coral Futures Academy (CFA) training improvements based on lessons learned.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring they meet deliverables and deadlines.
• Participates in the Coral Futures Academy workshops to be held once a year and monthly progress meetings among all partners (TNC, Stanford, MICS, CSP, PICRC) to support continued development and modification of the Coral Futures Academy.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including Team Leaders, science experts (Stanford), and policy leaders (TNC), to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and progress.
• Implement risk management strategies to identify potential project risks, assess their impact, and develop mitigation plans.
• Work with local teams online and through WhatsApp or other communication tools to discuss issues, solve problems, create new approaches, and adaptively manage each project for success.
• Review and approve project deliverables, providing feedback and requiring adjustments as necessary to meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Document project progress and outcomes, preparing detailed reports for upper management and stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and project evaluation.
• Promotes the CFA project locally and/or abroad by community engagement, social media posts, and other relevant meetings.
• Travel locally and nationally to attend CFA meetings and workshops.
• Provide required reports about the project
• Conduct field work as part of the restoration team
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field with four years of experience or a Master’s degree with two years of experience
Desired Qualifications
• Educational background or experience in related field.
• Knowledge and experience working with tropical coral reefs
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and web browsers. • Experience project management.
• Knowledge of local reef ecology and cultural practices as they relate to resource management.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work in remote areas in adverse conditions or during inclement weather
